Subject: 5v input Konnect
Hi Tom,

Now that I have quickly moved through wiring outputs with your help... Thank you!

I am now testing the input common bank 3 on the konnect. In applying 5vdc to this input common 3 to make that bank 5v. What sort of wiring recommendations/or diagram would you have for 5vdc?  Does an input connection at 5v need a pull down resistor?...
It will be for ttl output to connect the konnect input. I am only guessing I need to pull it down to <.8v for it to be recognized.

Thanks Tom,

Rob

Hi Rob,

It looks like the C36 uses a darlington transistor input with internal pull down resistance to be sure to turn off.  So you should be able to use Konnect to simply switch the input to +5V

See the attached diagram.

Hi Rob,

The Konnect inputs are rated to turn on when more than 4.75V is applied up to a maximum of 25V.

With the Common at 5V and if your TTL output drives low to less than 0.25V the input should activate.  The Konnect load is very light (4K ohms) so most TTL outputs should drive no trouble driving to less than 0.25V.  But you might want to check it.
